Groups Extension Setup Guide

This article will guide you through the process of setting up the Groups extension for UsersWP. 

Overview

The Groups extension lets you create and manage groups on your UsersWP-powered website, similar to the way you might manage groups on social networks such as Facebook. 

You need to have the Groups extension for UsersWP installed and activated in order to access these options. 

Once installed and activated, there are no special settings to configure. However, you should consider specifying the templates for Create Group, Groups List and Groups Item pages. The extension will automatically do the needful, but you can manually edit the same by heading to UsersWP > General > Pages.

Managing Groups

You can choose whether or not you want your group members to be able to invite other members to the groups. Furthermore, you can also make your groups Public, Private or Hidden. You can also decide whether posts should be auto-published or approved by a moderator first. 

Worth Noting

  • The Groups List template lists all the groups on your site. Hidden Groups do not show up in the list. 
  • The Group Item template displays the group item in groups list page.
